PureTNT Auctions charges / listed in the auction, a flat fee of $4.50 for most of our auction items. Items charged a different amount ALWAYS have it listed in the auction. Most often items are sent first class mail, occasionally priority ( depending on weight ). Why? You may ask are you charged $4.50 s/h if the postage is only 50 cents, 77 cents or $1.00. Reason #1 Material expenses to pack your item, everything from tape, bubble mailers, Bubble wrap, boxes and labels . Reason #2 As a seller based out of California, using a resale permit to sell. I must pay taxes on the estimated retail value of each item I sell. In California, this rate is just a hair under 8%, so for instance on a $10.00 sale, it comes to .80 cents and on a $20.00 to $1.60 Reason #3 For those of you that aren't aware, Pay pal has also begun to charge sellers ( will remain free for buyers ) for use of the service. What sellers are charged depends on the amount of each sale, plus a transaction fee. I accept pay pal payments as a service for my customers, and will continue to do so.. even now that it will no longer be free for me. Reason #4 Our time is valuable, just as yours is. We have 30-100 auctions a day ending, it is not possible, to run to the post office with 20 wins to stand in line to have them weighed, then come back home and spend 30 minutes sending email to 20 people to give them 'actual' postage. Only to have them add another win a day later and have to do the process again. Reason #5 Someone must pack your item, address it and then it's off to the post office we go. Gas and time in line.. often 30-45 minutes. During holiday times ( valentines, christmas, mothers day, fathers day, easter ) you can triple the time spent waiting. All of this for the extra dollar and change that the occasional individual will email to ask about... " I got my item today.. and I love it, however postage was $1.70 and you charged me $3.20, I would like a refund for the $1.50 overcharge. " I often am tempted to drop my professional manners and tell them...
So as I see it... you owe ME $9.85 ! Your auction wins are always combined and shipped for the same fee.
I hope I have adequately explained the reasons for the flat fee.
